POSITION INFORMAITON: Assists in all day to day of operation of the Division of dental radiology.
Performs following duties: exposing / taking intraoral (periapicals, bitewings) and extraoral radiographic images (panoramic, cephalometric and CBCT images). Expected to have base knowledge. Training can be provided as needed.
Teaches, trains and helps students and staff in exposing all types of images.
Evaluates the daily performance of dental students in the use of dental imaging and use of radiographic equipment. Keeps log.
Oversees the instruction of students in radiographic techniques throughout the College of Dentistry along with other staff members.
Answers phone calls in Radiology department and checks & send faxes as needed. Completes all paper work as needed.
Schedules patient appointments for radiology.
Sends images, data or other files via emails or by burning CDs to dental practices.
Responsible for room preparation, sterilization of equipment, stocking of supplies, preparation and up keep of all equipment in the radiology department.
Provides support to all departments for radiology as directed by the supervisors.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfil the function of the position.
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: 12 months experience performing chair side dental assistance and one of the four certification from the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
Certifications/ Licenses: Board Certified Certifications: Radiation Protection and Safety, Coronal Polishing and Topical Fluoride, Placement of Pit and Fissure Sealants, and/or Assisting in the administration of Nitrous Oxide.
Equivalent / Substitution: Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) is equivalent to 12 months' experience
