Basic Job Functions: Universal Industrial Gases, LLC. (UIG) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor and a well-established, global engineer, constructor, supplier and operator of air separation plants and related equipment and services, based in Bethlehem, PA. UIG owns and operates production plants across the USA which supply both Nucor steel sites and third-party clients 24/7 with tonnage quantities of oxygen, nitrogen and argon as well as exporting liquid cryogenic products by road tanker. UIG is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Bethlehem, PA. Under direction from the engineering director be the single, day-to-day project engineering lead for assigned project client(s), to manage overall project budget performance, schedule progress, expedite execution of engineering design, purchasing and vendor supply, collation and transmittal of engineering documentation deliverables and support for field construction resolve any follow-up requirements. Manage spending, on-time delivery and client and vendor communications so as to ensure quality, delivery and on-target results for assigned project(s).
Lead assigned projects to successful conclusion, managing budget, schedule and deliverables to scope.
Prepare technical specifications for external vendor quotations.
Evaluate vendor proposals as part of the purchasing process.
Lead technical qualification and approval of vendors and third party engineering work.
Manage creation of bills of material, detailed procedures and instructions, specifications as required.
Document change orders in required format.
Schedule and monitor project progress to achieve "on-time" and "on-budget" results.
Maintain and report project forecasts utilizing typical capital project tools.
Maintain project records for future retrieval of engineering data.

Bachelor's degree in a core Engineering discipline
7 years direct customer and supplier interaction leading capital engineering projects to successful conclusion
Willingness to travel 30% of the time
Experience leading engineered and capital projects, read and interpret engineering documentation, client requirements, prints/specs, technical writing, vendor quotations, bill of materials.
