Be actively involved with safety in the plant, and ensure all safety checks and actions are prioritized appropriately in the area.
Perform daily inspections of assigned department to identify, troubleshoot and make recommendations for future improvements and/or repairs.
Assists maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and research, when needed.
Ensure every intervention in the maintenance system is recorded for daily and future analyses which includes maintenance time consumed and materials issued from the storeroom.
Performs activities during PM days, when assigned.
Work directly with production personnel to isolate and repair equipment problems.
Will work closely with the Maintenance Planner in the development of an effective preventative maintenance program. This includes, but is not limited to; resourcing, scheduling, parts needed and implementation.
Propose and implement redesigns or modifications in the equipment in order to optimize the reliability and maintainability.
Act as a mentor and leader within the department for new and seasoned teammates including training sessions, troubleshooting support, and individual development.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Two Year Electrical or Mechanical Degree or four years Industrial Maintenance experience
Supervisor and/or manager recommendation
Although this is a day shift position, candidates must be willing to work as needed including off shifts and weekends.
High school Diploma or GED
Must be able to read and write technical English
