Dematic has an immediate need for a Director to lead its Marketing & Communications efforts across the Americas Region. This position reports directly to the VP, Global Marketing and Communications and is responsible for leading all marketing and communications activities for the Dematic Americas.


This individual will develop and implement a coherent integrated communications strategy and brand positioning throughout the region in line with the Global Marketing & Communications Strategy; will support the Region in strategic and tactical communication matters; will proactively plan, manage and control all communication disciplines and activities within the overall framework and according to objectives and strategy of the business.

Communications in this context encompasses all communication activities, i.e. corporate, internal, external, marketing, promotions, events, fairs, in all media and digital channels in close cooperation and coordination with Global Marketing & Communications.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with VP, regional leadership, global teams and approved marketing vendors in establishing and executing annual marketing plans for Dematic Americas

  • Serves as the marketing expert for the region, with the ability to communicate marketing strategy with knowledge and conviction to stakeholders

  • Develop and manage activities in marketing communications, publicity, events, fairs, editorial, web platforms/digital channels and interactive marketing.

  • Develop and recommend marketing and communications measures to inform and educate key stakeholders of Dematic, including customers, prospects, management, employees.

  • Work closely with Global Communications function and Regional Marketing team members ensuring strong exposure for Dematic messages and consistency with company-wide themes.

  • Research and recommend communications programs and supply channels to maximize cost efficiency and minimize overlap among country-based teams.

  • Evaluate, manage, and guide Region and country level marketing personnel to ensure deployment of resources commensurate with the size and objectives of the business in those local markets.

  • Serve as a consultant to the leadership team on all communications issues arising in the Americas, as well as the contact person for the media in all of Americas


Cross-departmental tasks:

  • Oversees the marketing staff’s tactics for website content management, events and trade shows, social media engagement, internal and external communications, and community outreach.

  • Remains aware of and compliant with all marketing-related guidelines and corporate policies related to communications, advertising and promotions, media relations and other topics as applicable.

  • Set strategic plans, budgets and controlling mechanisms in division to deliver performance targets and provide effective development plans

  • Build and manage a rich content/editorial calendar that attracts a qualified audience to our owned properties (including blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.).

  • Grow new leads, including marketing-qualified leads, by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content (including offers).

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective editorial calendar.

  • Contribute, as part of the wider Americas management team, to the successful achievement of Companywide goals and targets.

  • Support with the development of Americas go-to-Market Strategy and Marketing Strategy.

  • Monitor the materials handling market, i.e. customers, suppliers and competitors. Maintain levels of product and application know how on the Company product range.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Masters strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the marketing principles and new B2B technology.

  • Knowledge of, or a strong capability to acquire knowledge of, Dematic’s market, the drivers, challenges and trends facing customers, and how Dematic’s solutions, products, and services address customer requirements.

  • Experience in all areas of marketing activity with a strong understanding of internal and external marketing communications.

  • Controlling a budget for relevant areas.

  • Ability to work as part of a global matrix.

  • 8+ years of marketing and communications experience working within a global, matrix organization and leading high-performing teams.

  • Proactive self-starter with discipline for setting goals and metrics, driving decisions, and getting closure on recommendations and issues.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels both internal and external and competence in making timely, effective, principles-based decisions.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required by the business.


Special Conditions

  • To support the geographical spread of our sites, the postholder will be required to travel frequently both domestic and globally.

  • The post holder will be required to work outside the core business hours on a case-by-case basis. Some weekend work will be required.
