Reporting to the Vice President, Global Product Management, you will be responsible for managing existing products & services as well as creating and integrating new products and product changes for the global Interconnection product portfolio. Recent acquisitions and a strategic shift of the organization from a wholesale data center provider to a full-service provider with a rich Interconnection service offering, requires a change of leadership to drive and lead strategy and corporate priorities within the global Interconnection product portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include:
Directing margin analysis, industry/market research, and in-life performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability.
Overseeing the creation of formal business cases and product descriptions, and manage the various internal organizations to ensure product policy and processes are negotiated, documented, and executed accurately.
Lead and manage a team of professional employees and managers responsible for all Interconnection product-related operations.
More specifically, you will:
Manage in-life product performance of sales, margin and churn, conducting extensive numerical analysis using company data (this will require about 10% of your time).
Oversee and lead innovative and creative product solutions (about 10% of your time).
Management of all product integration/launches/changes throughout implementation (15%).
Review the business and operational requirements based upon the business requirements and objectives of each product (15%).
Manage cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products (10%).
Oversee relationships with various internal organizations including IT, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Operations (5%).
Lead the development, approval, training, and communication of new products/product changes and their associated customer, operational, system and process impacts to the various internal organizations (15%).
Develop and manage the delivery of specialized training on new products launched, and raise awareness and application of relevant subject matter (5%).
Monitor internal processes for efficiency and validity pre & post product launch/changes (5%).
Provide guidance for other departmental projects as needed (5%)
Ensure service levels are met/exceeded and maintained as assigned by products (and 3%).
Ensure reliability standards are met/exceeded expected (2%).
Additionally, you will lead and manage key projects, which include:
Managing the global launch of Service Exchange. This is one of the company's top initiatives (mentioned above) and has a budget of approximately $3-4M USD.
Managing the Global Cross Connect product portfolio, with annual revenues over $160M USD.
Managing the Metro Connect product portfolio, with annual revenues over $lM USD.
Managing the Internet Exchange product portfolio, with annual revenues over $5M USD.
To be a good fit for the Senior Director of Product Management opportunity, you will have:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, engineering, or information technology.
15+ years of experience in the technology industry, particularly datacenter or cloud.
A proven track record of understanding customer and market needs and delivering products and technology solutions to address those needs.
Proven strong leadership and management skills.
Familiarity with multi cloud, DCIM and SDN technologies.
A deep understanding of product development and product marketing.
Extensive experience with quote-to-cash processes and optimization for customer experience.
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver executive level communications.
Independence, motivation, and a strong sense of ownership.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work throughout the company to ensure critical business execution.
You also will need to be willing and able to travel -- once it is safe -- 15% to 20% of the time.
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
