Our Northern California offices are looking to fill GIS Analyst positions in our growing US Operations.
Working as a GIS Analyst, you will participate in Environmental, Civil Engineering and Planning projects on activities pertaining to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Management and Analysis.
The successful candidates will perform the following tasks:
• Preparation and delivery of GIS figures for technical reports, planning reports, presentations, and compliance documents in traditional and digital formats • Gather, compile, migrate and convert datasets for project needs from a variety of internal and external sources • Research, update, and maintain numerous GIS datasets and templates • Evaluate data from multiple sources to determine the quality and ensure data is clean and accurate • Champion GIS solutions for clients in both data collection and delivery in the online and desktop environments
Recommended Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, or other relevant subject with a minimum of 20 hours of geospatial coursework (or equivalent of a minor or emphasis in GIS) • 2-5 years relevant professional experience • Proficiency in ESRI GIS software - ArcMap 10.x / ArcPro / AGOL • Experience in data conversion, database management, and GIS digitization and analysis • Experience with online/web mapping • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines • Self-motivated, responsible and a team contributor • Enthusiasm to adopt new technical concepts and applications • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, analytical and time management skills
The following experience is considered an asset: • Background in urban or transportation planning applications of GIS • Background in storm water systems and planning applications of GIS • Experience with mobile GIS data collection tools (Collector, Survey123, Terrasync) • Previous consulting or institutional experience in geospatial or civil engineering • Custom code within the ArcGIS environment or data interoperability software (e.g. FME) • ESRI tools such as ArcGIS Urban, GeoPlanner, CityEngine and similar • ESRI ArcGIS Server
