Engineer Analyst NDE


This position exists to develop, implement, maintain, maximize, and continuously improve the Shiloh manufacturing capability of Industrial and Aerospace Bearing Manufacturing with conformance to ISO9001:2015 and AS9100 Rev. D quality systems.This position is responsible for Supplier Quality Management and Nondestructive Test Processes.


Lead NADCAP audits for Chemical Processing, Nondestructive Testing, and Nonconventional Machining. Participate in customer and third-party audits (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.) of the Shiloh Plant quality system.

Maintain ownership over Nondestructive Test processes including Nital Etch, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle Testing, and Barkhausen Noise Testing. Maintain ownership of chemical processing processes (Black Oxide, Passivation, etc.).

Lead all supplier quality management activities including ownership of supplier related defects, supplier audits, and capability of suppliers to meet existing requirements. Work closely with corporate supplier quality development team for new suppliers or major project impacting the Timken Shiloh Plant.

Take an active role in the development and implementation of new products that will conform to AS9100, ISO9001:2000, NADCAP, and customer specific requirements by leading quality planning activities.

Take a lead role in investigation, follow up, and timely response to product quality issues, manufacturing issues, and information requests as related to customer inquiries, concerns and/or complaints.

Assist in the development and training of associates in quality system procedures and work instructions.

Develop and maintain open communications to effectively resolve issues related to the quality system. This includes not only with local operations and associates, but also other Timken locations, business units, customers and suppliers.

Required Skills and Experience:

BS Engineering or other STEM Degree required

Experience with and ability to use quality core tools (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, etc.)

Expertise in Nondestructive Test Methods such as Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and Nital Etch

Understanding of quality system requirements of AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, etc.

Blueprint reading ability and knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

Experience with other fundamental quality tools (pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, 5 Whys, etc.)

Auditing skills and ability to determine compliance to quality standards

Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and data analysis to solve complex problems

Project management skills and ability to lead a team to implement actions for imrpovement

Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously in a manufacturing environment

Strong communication skills
