Type: Part Time
Upon the order of a physician, sets up, operates, monitors, and manages various types of Respiratory equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis, treatment, and/or management of pulmonary disease and/or illness. Under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor, coordinates shift coordinates shift activities and handles management issues that arise on second and third shift.
This position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions.
Administers physician-prescribed Respiratory therapy by setting up and operating various oxygen delivery devices, nebulizers, humidifiers, tents, and hoods in order to deliver prescribed drugs, gases, humidity, and various oxygen concentrations to the Respiratory system of the patient
Sets up, operates, monitors, and manages mechanical ventilators when patient's Respiratory system is incapable of adequate spontaneous ventilation.
Performs arterial puncture and obtains blood sample for analysis of arterial blood gases and determination of acid-base balance.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy Therapist program
Licensed by the State. Registered by NBRC. Current State license One year of general and intensive/critical Respiratory care to include ventilator management and ABG acquisition preferred
