ARCTOS is currently searching for a Research Engineer to join our team within the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate of Air Force Research Lab (AFRL/RX). This position involves computational efforts to aid material discovery of thermoset resins and layup and processing of these systems. The ideal candidate will develop computational methods to establish structure-property relationships across multiple length scales, from atomistic to molecular/nano scale to continuum material properties, using physics-based predictive modeling and simulation, augmented by artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) algorithms. The ideal candidate should develop computational methods to improve the processing of composite materials by using phenomenological and multiscale physics-based approaches, connecting experimental measurements to controllable processing parameters, with a strong focus on the connection from the nanoscale to continuum material properties.
