VCU Health System#s Pharmacy department (Ambulatory/Retail Pharmacies) is#seeking a full time#Assistant Director of Pharmacy to manage inpatient or outpatient pharmacies and pharmacy services. Meets expense and revenue budgets, provides service#leadership and meets customer service objectives. Meets all applicable legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Supervises#pharmacy staff providing inpatient or outpatient services. Serves as a liaison with other departments and provides oversight to the#technology and automation involved in the medication management process. Ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality and#effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including the following#patient groups: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics. Responsibilities # Ensures the provision and documentation of quality Pharmaceutical C are services that are customer focused and outcome oriented.#Collaborates with other managers to develop, implement and assess pharmaceutical care activities within the pharmacy. Coordinates#recruitment and orientation of all classified employees as well as the training and education of pharmacy staff. Supports staff#development activities. Makes recommendations for development activities and programs. Develops competency-based assessment#standards and ensures that they are met. Addresses performance issues as they occur.##Provide leadership to meet staffing and service requirements. Respond to patient services and other managerial issues independently.#Make hiring, disciplinary and performance review decisions. # Qualifications # Required # Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting Previous experience with state of the art drug distribution, clinical service methods and pharmacy information systems/automation # Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire (Note: Required credentials are limited to those required by law, regulation, or professional standard.)# # Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment # Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment including CPR, etc. (Note: Required credentials are limited to those required by law, regulation, or professional standard)# # Current licensure as a Pharmacist with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy# # Preferred # Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program Five (5) years of pharmacy experience preferred in a similar setting One (1) year of supervisory/management experience in a similar setting Previous experience and exposure to patient support programs (e.g. Ryan White, ADAP, VHC A 340B)#

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program

Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting

Previous experience with state of the art drug distribution, clinical service methods and pharmacy information systems/automation

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR HIRE (NOTE: REQUIRED CREDENTIALS ARE LIMITED TO THOSE REQUIRED BY

LAW, REGULATION, OR PROFESSIONAL STANDARD.)

Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT INCLUDING CPR, ETC. (NOTE: REQUIRED

CREDENTIALS ARE LIMITED TO THOSE REQUIRED BY LAW, REGULATION, OR PROFESSIONAL STANDARD)

Current licensure as a Pharmacist with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy

PREFERRED

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program

Five (5) years of pharmacy experience preferred in a similar setting

One (1) year of supervisory/management experience in a similar setting

Previous experience and exposure to patient support programs (e.g. Ryan White, ADAP, VHC A 340B)
