Job Description:

JOB OVERVIEW: Provide all management support functions of Quality Control (QC) and Health, Safety and Environmental services (HSE) to management and the O/M support contract. The contract is a full scope O/M support services contract on an active military/medical research facility is Silver Spring MD. QC role will have responsibility to delegate rework of unsatisfactory work practices as well as documentation/procedural updates and changes as necessary to continually improve the quality of the program. HSE function will have responsibility to oversee daily safety operations and program compliance of applicable codes, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


* Perform all required O&M-related quality control (QC) inspections involving work throughout the life cycle of performance, to include mandated percentages of QC work volume dictated by contract requirements.
* Perform interior and exterior inspections of contract-specific campus facilities, audit database (DMLSS) entry to ascertain accuracy and timeliness of all information provided, maintains up-to-date awareness of material expenditures and status of invoicing availability.
* Generates necessary contract-specific reporting for management and government counterparts ensuring QC procedures and management plans are meeting workmanship guidelines and all pass/fail criteria.
* Assists in inspection services for the purpose of ensuring that all work is meeting and/or exceeding minimum standards of all quality control guidelines accordance with all applicable local, state and federal codes, regulations, laws and contractual requirements.
* Reports directly to the Corporate QC and HSE Directors as well as indirectly to the Site Operations
* Management. Provides all applicable HSE-related training to contract employees to ensure compliance with all standards including applicable local, state and federal codes, regulations, laws and contractual requirements (OSHA).
* Will assist with other collateral duties as assigned.

- Report Environmental impacts, anything that results in a change to the Environment as a result of Valiant's activities, products or services.

- Participate in the achievement of Valiant's QHSE objectives and targets, both those at departmental and company level.

QUALIFICATIONS:


* Health, Safety, Environmental Manager: OSHA 30-hour course, 5 years of site safety/environmental experience, and 3 years of government medical research and/or hospital-related safety experience.
* Quality Control Manager: Certificate from USACE Quality Management for Contractors Course.
* An otherwise qualified QC Manager may complete the first USACE Quality Management for Contractors course available after hire, with a copy of the course certificate provided upon completion.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:


* Shall hold 10 and 30 hour OSHA Training and CPR/AED and Standard First Aid Certification.
* WIll have working expereince in NFPA, EPA, OSHA, AAALAC, ISO 17025 & 9000 and other laboratory standards accreditations, AIHA, NRC, and federal state, and local codes and standards.
* Will be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


* DMLSS-FM Basic Course (40 Hours).
* May complete the first DMLSS-FM Basic Course available after hire, with a copy of the course certificate provided upon completion.
