Job Description:


Crescent Bank is looking for a talented professional to fill an open position as an Underwriter / National Credit Officer II. The Underwriter / National Credit Officer II position will be responsible for reviewing and decisioning sub-prime auto credit applications received from Indirect Dealer customers within bank policies and programs while working in tandem with bank’s salesforce to solidify dealer relationships. This position has previous sub-prime lending experience with established dealer relationships

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Builds solid, collaborative teams with Dealer Relationship Officers to focus on developing, growing and maintaining strong, profitable partnerships with our dealer customers.


  • Read, analyze and interpret bank policies and procedures, financial reports, and legal documents.


  • Analyzes credit and application data to determine credit worthiness of loan applicants to render appropriate decision in accordance with credit policies, procedures and rules established by senior management and state/federal laws.


  • Maintains a high level of service in regard to underwriting, incoming and outbound calls as well as internal communications.


  • Processes all contract funding exceptions in a timely manner including notifications to dealer and DROs regarding status and resolution requirements.


  • Utilizes sales skills along with product and industry knowledge, to capture contracts required to meet volume and profitability goals set forth by senior management.


  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.


  • Remains knowledgeable on competitive programs within the Auto Finance Industry along with changing laws and regulations pertaining to consumer lending and shares this information with team.


  • Provides support to other NCO markets as needed, in same manner as assigned market, as well as work in cooperation with other departments to ensure maximum efficiency goals.


  • Collaborates and shares experience and knowledge with less experienced team members.


  • Meets productivity standards in accordance with Crescent Bank’s confidentiality policies and organizational values


  • Performs additional duties as needed within the department


 



Position Requirements:




  • 2 years credit underwriting required, Auto Lending preferred. 


  • Flexible schedule required to meet business needs including extended business hours, rotating shifts, weekends, overtime and holidays.


  • Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment while dealing with possible stressful situations with our dealer customers.


  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions applicable to bank policies and procedures as well as Federal Bank Regulations which Crescent Bank operates within


  • Working knowledge of sales, credit and funding processes in Consumer Finance.


  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and applications including Microsoft Office and Outlook


  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills


  • Occasional travel may be required to support sales function and/or training
