Duties and Responsibilities:
The Admissions Enrollment Specialist serves as a front-line point of contact for prospective transfer as well as freshman students, responsible for communicating with applicants and reviewing application data for admission. This person will be responsible for efforts related to recruitment, partnerships, admissions and/evaluations processes for the transfer student population.
• Increase transfer and first time freshman student's interest and enrollment through lead generation, telemarketing, social media and counseling.
• Communicate with prospective students, parents and community through appointments, telephone, email, virtual opportunities and other materials.
• Present information about the benefits of an education from the department, college or area being represented at onsite locations and to on-campus visitors.
• Assist with processing admission for transfer/freshman applications, transcripts and other supporting credentials for determination of admissibility in accordance with university policies and procedures as requested.
• Audit student records and notify students/potential students of problems with their academic records including transcripts, registration, prerequisites, etc.
• Performs evaluation of transcripts for admissions purposes, interviews, advises, and communicates with prospective transfer students regarding admission to the University.
• Respond to student inquiries regarding the admission process and procedures and the transferability of credit and related academic information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Admissions Coordinator.Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience with student recruiting in a college/university environment required; preferably with the transfer population.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: • Work patiently and supportively with prospective students, applicants and their families.
• Excellent interpersonal and phone skills
• Great organizational skills.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
• Ability to collect and analyze data relate to students admissions and recruitment.
Conditions of Employment: Travel in and out of state, evening, and weekend hours will be required.
Other: This is a union position.
