Be a part of the national marketing team responsible for creating and delivering National-to-Local marketing strategies for the Medicare Advantage (MA) and Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP). This Associate Director will drive member acquisition and retention goals from development thru execution of programs of scale. In addition, this Associate Director will help drive improved financial efforts, through management and reporting of our team's Budget, Forecast and Spends. Marketing strategies include but are not limited to direct marketing and media campaigns as well as activation of field marketing strategies and collateral execution. The Associate Director must have deep knowledge of the business model supporting MA and DSNP sales as well as be able to speak to all initiatives taking place nationally. They will then collaborate with our cross-functional partners to plan and implement CMS-approved nationally scaled strategies and guide our marketing team to implement locally.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • 50% Marketing
    • Develop national marketing and media strategies working with vendors and cross functional team to create high impact, prioritized and well-coordinated programs helping to execute locally in collaboration with sales and plan leadership
    • Work with internal and external agency partners in the development of marketing assets and tools
    • Understand and align to CMS requirements for creation of marketing materials and sales activities
    • Maintain collaborative relationships with the national sales leaders, plan leadership and field sales agents, as well as our internal cross function teams such as creative, marketing leadership and functions like clinical, growth teams and strategy
    • Gain an understanding of the product, the target audience and develop the go-to-market business plan, communicating expectations and steps to activate locally
    • Provide reporting and understanding around campaigns to national leadership and internal teams
    • Support Director in key initiatives through coordination of PowerPoint presentations, excel charts and other tools that help demonstrate our marketing story and activation

  • 40% Finance & Analytics
    • Understand and help our team input into the Government Programs financial model and the specific marketing budget for each region
    • Perform a variety of financial analyses to determine present and forecasted financial spend, commitments, actuals and over/under budget
    • Compile and analyze financial reports (budget, forecast & spend), identify discrepancies and provide rationale and recommendations to adjust
    • Collaborate with management on development and execution of funding strategies
    • Analyze our efforts to provide recommendations on improving performance of programs

  • 10% Operations
    • Identify and promote best practices for national strategies and execution excellence
    • Manage the set-up and the delivery of field marketing materials & tools, along with training and any support needed by the marketing team for utilization
    • Desire to drive clarity within ambiguous processes and help team streamline efforts
    • Proactively identify and manage any updates for brand and for benefit /product changes each year

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of marketing experience
  • Direct to consumer marketing experience
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
