Legacy Health is currently seeking an experienced Palliative Care/ Hospice Medical Director to join our dynamic and well-established Portland team.
The Medical Director of Palliative and Hospice Care acts as a comfort care/end-of-life resource to Legacy Health System and its community for teaching, clinical and administrative purposes.
The Medical Director will provide leadership in comfort care consultation, education of physicians and staff, administration of projects, and development of clinical policies, as well as assume overall responsibility of the medical component of care for the LVNA Hospice patient care.
Responds promptly in writing to referral source with clinical findings and suggested plan of care.
Qualifications and Licensure Requirements
Graduate of four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited residency program and fellowship in Palliative Care.
Minimum of two years of active participation in a multidisciplinary team; clinical experience in end-of-life/palliative care.
Prefer four or more years of experience including experience in leadership of consultations, policy development, adult medical education and clinical ethics.
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
