Job Description:

Howemet Aerospace is looking for a Controller who is responsible for the overall financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. Including the r esponsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the Company's financial and accounting records such as formal books of account, general and subsidiary ledgers, journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be required and assigned at any time.


  • Act as an authority on GAAP related accounting matters for the site, including areas such as revenue recognition and cost accounting
  • Coordinate and administer an adequate plan for the control of operations including; profit planning an analysis, sales forecasts, expense budgets, cost standards, saving opportunities, and capital investing
  • Establish quantitative performance measures grounded in sound financial management techniques and provide the operating management with immediate and accurate information on a proactive basis.
  • Keep Corporate controller informed of the site's performance and provide advice on all financial matters, including desirable operational adjustments.
  • Compare performance with operating plans and standards; provide reports and interpret results of operations to all levels of management, including the formulation of accounting policies, preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required
  • Provide departments of the site with related information required to carry out their assigned responsibilities
  • Monitor inventory levels and advise management regarding variances to budget
  • Develop and maintain cost models to assess and track cost reduction opportunities
  • Manage and control the working capital for the operation. Including credit and collection, accounts payable and inventory. Setting credit limits in line with group policy.
  • Forecast short and long range cash requirements and obligations as a basis for maintaining adequate funds.
  • Act as primary interface to external auditors with respect to site matters.
  • Develop a diverse workforce that operates effectively in a team environment
  • Administration of financial systems to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with Federal, State, and Firth Rixson regulations/policies. Ensure compliance with all required reporting deadlines.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and or M.B.A. is desirable

7-10 years of progressive financial management in a manufacturing environment

Experience with GAAP requirements

Expert skills in all accounting disciplines, including financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, planning and forecasting

A demonstrated ability to simultaneously administer and coordinate multiple, ongoing projects, ensuring that they are implemented effectively within targeted timelines and costs

Strong management and leadership skills to direct a professional staff, promote team effort and develop strong working relationships across functional and division lines

COMPUTER SKILLS

Microsoft Office Suite

Global Visual experience is a plus


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or Finance

  • Formal training and in-depth experience in cost accounting, financial accounting, local, state, and federal tax regulations, and financial analysis & reporting

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
