Cox Automotive s US businesses have been on an enterprise transformation journey, modernizing their product and IT platforms while moving to public cloud provided infrastructure and PaaS capabilities. This effort has strong momentum and has delivered dramatic improvements in team member productivity, improved system reliability, and decreased security risk posture. Now Cox Automotive is scaling its cloud journey to its International businesses within Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Brazil, and is looking for a technology leader for this effort. The International Architecture Lead will drive a cloud-centric architectural approach for our Product Engineering and IT teams that improves the quality, simplicity, and time-to-market of the services they deliver. In addition, this leader will identify opportunities to leverage Cox Automotive s US product platforms in an international context. The International Architecture Lead will work collaboratively with the technology leaders of each of these markets to understand their needs and develop business-driven roadmaps for migration to the cloud and leverage of other enterprise product platforms. This individual will also collaborate with US-based Product Engineering team as well as the Engineering Enablement team, which provides an Engineering Platform to our technology teams consisting of standard approaches, tools, and engineered solutions to all of our technology teams. The International Architecture Lead will help drive adoption of enterprise assets by the International engineering teams, and act as an advocate for any unique requirements coming from the International groups. Reporting to CAI s Vice President of Architecture and Cloud Enablement, International Architecture Lead is a part of the broader CAI-wide architecture practice, and participates in developing prescriptive patterns, standards, and target-state architectures for the enterprise. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Cloud Architecture advise teams on technical direction, ensuring consistency with the CAI standards to cloud architecture, and conducting architecture reviews in the spirit of the AWS Well-Architected Review. Product Platform Leverage identify opportunities to leverage product platforms supporting the US businesses within the International context. This includes platforms supporting specific vertical use cases, such as wholesale digital auction systems, as well as horizontal use cases, such as image processing or identity management platforms. Systems Architecture proactively engage with teams on questions of technical architectural direction, sharing subject matter expertise on preferred architectural patterns and re-usable approaches from across the CAI enterprise. Learns about and drives the dissemination of reusable patterns across teams, both within International and across CAI. Developing Architectural Guidelines and Design Principles collaborate with other architecture leaders in creating a set of common production-readiness standards and design principles to be applied across International, working closely with representatives from Security, Production Engineering, and our Architecture teams. Monitoring the Industry / Technical Landscape ensure that our architectural direction is consistent with current, accepted practices in our industry and within CAI. Communicate new technology and practices to our teams via design reviews, training sessions, and a Tech Radar. Cross-CAI Collaboration collaborate with leaders from Architecture, Security, and Production Engineering teams across CAI to contribute to a wider set of patterns and practices that support our teams in building quality, production-ready, maintainable solutions. Training develop and deliver training sessions on a wide range of architectural topics for leaders, architects, and team members. Training development plan should be based on an understanding of CAI s architectural priorities and the teams maturity level and developmental needs. Architectural Advocacy act as a thought leader to advocate for the approaches that will lead to success for the International organizations, working with executive leaders to gain buy-in and alignment. Qualifications: Required Experience (minimum): 15+ years of working experience as a practicing architect and / or lead engineer Proven ability to work autonomously to drive results in a complex, matrixed environment Passion for technology with a proven ability to stay up-to-speed on current trends in enterprise-scale cloud development Working experience in technology delivery, especially in Internet environments Working experience with relevant AWS, Azure and other cloud technologies Working experience as a Lead Architect on large-scale software implementations Working experience in multi-tier enterprise architecture environments Working experience with relevant database technologies Bachelor s degree in Computer Science degree or related field #LI-127 So, are you ready to challenge today and transform tomorrow?
