This Position Working Location Will Be 5025 Tuggle Rd Memphis, TN 38118 This position manages the daily warehouse/repair center operational activities to ensure all FedEx Forward Depots (FFD) and client established contract requirements, objectives and expectations are met. Works closely with other branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient branch operation objectives are being met. Interprets operational reports and metrics used in assessing effectiveness and efficiencies of the business. Understands the design of the operational platform, evaluates root cause analysis, and develops corrective measures for operational continuity. Develops and implements recommendations to the FFD senior management team to increase operational effectiveness and improve customer satisfaction. Ensures safe and legal handling of regulated materials for all inbound and outbound shipments. Responsible for managing employee relations, team building, training, and the performance review process. Effectively translates and communicates FFD objectives to subordinates. Involved in the budget and forecasting process, as well as sharing in the Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility.

KNOWLEDGE

* Demonstrated understanding of operational repair systems and procedures or Transportation Industry/Supply Chain Management/Warehouse systems and procedures

* Knowledgeable of industry-related issues technical repair services and supply chain management and use of technology in those areas.

* Demonstrated ability to manage 10+ direct reports, hourly and exempt.

* Knowledgeable of FedEx Forward Depots work rules and HR procedures. (Internal Use only)

* Detailed understanding of financial concepts (budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis) and associated tools.

* Proven track record of successful financial and operational management.

* Ability to learn and understand operations processes supported through technology.

* Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills (including presentations to internal and external groups)

* Experience in data analysis and using software applications (ex, MS Excel, MS Access not all inclusive).

* Experience with analytical techniques to define and solve complex problems.

* Must understand root cause analysis and problem resolution skills.

* Knowledge of project management skills and applications (MS Project).

* Systematic planning techniques and process to create realistic schedules, define and prioritize goals and objectives.

* Originate and develop new ideas and concepts in order to create unique and alternative solutions to the organizations problems.

* Good judgment and a common sense approach in decision-making even when dealing with complex problems.

* Good customer interface skills

* Understanding and application of Quality Driven Management (QDM) or lean methodologies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

* Related Master s Degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or in a related field or equivalent or Military rank at E-6-7/or O-2-O3. A minimum of three years of direct personnel supervisory experience in a warehouse, logistics, for WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L and talent management required. Demonstrated leadership qualities

* Bachelor s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or in a related field or equivalent or Military rank at E-6-7/or O-2-O3. A minimum of three years of direct personnel supervisory experience in a warehouse, logistics environment responsible for WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L and talent management required. Demonstrated leadership qualities

* Associate s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or in a related field or Military rank at E-6-7/or O-2-O3 plus five years progressive related experience in Operations, Technical, or Repair Service environment. A minimum of three years of direct personnel supervisory experience in a warehouse, logistics, environment responsible for WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L and talent management required. Demonstrated leadership qualities

* High School Diploma/Equivalency or GED plus 7 years progressive, related experience in Operations, Technical and Repair Service environment. operations management, supply chain management, industrial engineering or in a related field or Military rank at E-6-7/or O-2-O3. A minimum of three years of direct personnel supervisory experience in a warehouse, logistics, environment responsible for WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L and talent management required.
