Job Specific Duties
Assures the supply levels are par and appropriate staff is notified when levels drop to re-order status.
Confirms appointments, calls failed appointments, and advises on dental policy.
Drives the mobile dental unit to local community shelters, schools, and other sites across South Florida.
Checks all equipment for proper function and cleanliness. Notifies designated employee of any equipment not operating properly and needing repair.
Answers, screens, and routes incoming calls. Retrieves messages via email. Liaisons with insurance companies and other departments. Schedules appointments for patients while present in the mobile unit and on the phone.
Develops and maintains scheduling system. Registers and schedules patients for initial exams, recalls, specialty procedures, consults, and sedation.
Provides for patient safety, greets parents, and assists patients to operatory checking with parent, reading armband to identify scheduled patient before beginning any procedure.
Reviews, maintains, and documents patient information in the computer thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner. Obtains consent from parents.
Ensures patients schedule their next dental appointment before leaving the clinic. Assures specialists are aware of their scheduled days.
Maintains cleanliness and working order of the interior of the vehicle and its equipment.
Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of mobile unit, transport equipment, and supplies. Performs routine maintenance and safety checks prior to and after each route.
Provides access for the patients and their families with friendly interaction and communication. Provides assistance or help to enter the Dental Mobile Unit.
Minimum Job Requirements
CPR AED - American Heart Association - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment within 1 month in position
Valid State of Florida driver’s license - Class B commercial (CDL); DOT medical card within 1 month in position
A minimum of 2 years customer service experience
A minimum of 1 year experience operating/driving buses or trucks
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school education or equivalent preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Experience navigating with Google Maps.
Able to operates truck in safe and professional manner on public highways and roads.
Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families, and co-workers.
Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
