Under the supervision and direction of staff pharmacists, as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy Services, carries out non-judgmental activities in medication distribution process including the selection and preparation of medication doses in response to patient specific orders, requests for bulk preparations, and meeting anticipated needs. Medications are prepared, packaged, and labeled according to department policies, regulatory, and accreditation standards. The preparation and distribution of medications may requires use of special equipment and processes, including aseptic technique, packaging equipment, and automated dispensing devices. Other duties may include transport of medications to patient care areas, record keeping, auditing, maintenance of equipment, organization and cleanliness of department areas, and other activities associated with the medication management process. QUALIFICATIONS POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Licensure by California State Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician.
* High School graduate or equivalent.
* Completion of Pharmacy Technician training program.
* Previous experience as Pharmacy Technician and experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
* Excellent fluency in English verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to understand and correctly follow verbal and written instructions.
