We are looking for a Principal Architect to help us expand our Discovery (Science & Technology) practice in the Raleigh region. This is an exceptional opportunity to build and nurture our Discovery practice in the Raleigh studio with the backing of a national firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Revenue Generation:
Identify and track national and regional opportunities in concert with practice leaders;
Collaborating with the practice leader set personal revenue goal annually;
Achieve revenue goals with targets and clients;
Lead the pursuit team and the strategy to win work;
Collaborate with regional design leaders to promote design internally and externally;
Develop and execute client capture plans;
Lead the strategy and pursuit teams to win work;
Develop target/client relationship building with regional teams.
Client Relationship and Industry Partner Management:
Build strong relationships with target clients that fit into the overall market strategy and key industry partners inside and outside of projects;
Sell all BSA services as appropriate;
Promote and introduce various disciplines to client contacts;
Lead the development of relationships up and down the client chain zippering relationships with counterparts at BSA; Communicate and negotiate BSA terms and how we do business and balance risk;
Maintain client relationship through the life of a project and post completion; Ensure client satisfaction;
Manage transitions as client contacts change.
Project Outcomes:
Working with the discipline leads and the project manager to ensure profitability, design quality, project outcomes, staff growth;
Set fees appropriately collaborating with all disciplines;
Kick off with communication between discipline leads to ensure project team is designed for success;
Outcome achieves client goals and addresses project design drivers;
Assist and support project manager and team to deliver within scope;
Push client communication to the project team;
Assist and advise on DCOs ensuring timely submittal and client communication;
Principals responsibility in terms of E&Os, project issues or project schedule lie in managing the communication with the client and minimizing risk for BSA;
Maintain communication with project manager to identify any issues early in the process.
Content:
Develop content that can be published on the website, promoted through social, published in external media. Content can be market related, expertise driven, project stories or addressing market trends.
Staff development:
Lead, guide and mentor professional staff working on principal’s projects and others as appropriate;
Lead by example;
Coordinate with other studio principals locally and nationally sharing and learning from one another;
Coordinate with discipline leads in the studio on mentoring, project delivery issues, project team set up.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Track and manage client and project satisfaction surveys. Assure client satisfaction.
Reviews project team performance with Project Manager.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
