Overview:

Working under Guidelines and Standards of AWHONN and Guidelines for Perinatal Care (AAP, and ACOG), the Registered Nurse will utilize theoretical concepts as a basis for decisions in practice. The RN performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation. The RN is responsible for prescribing nursing interventions, and coordinator of patient activities, delegation of the aspects of care that are provided by others. The RN must be able to supervise LPN's, ancillary staff, and students.

The RN may be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements. Basic to accomplishment of these responsibilities is individual professional accountability through adherence to standards of nursing care and through a commitment to act in accordance with ethical principles. The license professional RN will perform all work with accord to the mission, vision, and values of Mercy.

Qualifications:

* Required Education: Is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

* Preferred Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. (ADN, BSN, MSN)

* Preferred Licensure: Oklahoma RN

* Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association,
