Job Description
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Associate Producer will support the Producers on the Development video team and will help move projects departmentally from pre-production, to production, to post-production. This role is for someone who is extremely creative, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task. This ideal candidate is passionate and well-versed in digital video as well as eager to pitch new creative ideas. Experience in handling bookings and sourcing talent is a plus!
II. Essential Job Functions
50%
Meaningfully participate in creative brainstorms, preparing for video slates and pitches, setting up interviews with talent.
30%
Sourcing potential hosts, locations, and talent, and being able to participate in building creative concepts around them.
20%
Experience on set handling runs and supporting lead producer with equipment and studio sets.
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Film/TV or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a production assistant, coordinator or associate producer in television, online or film.
- Minimum 1 year working with talent.
- Must have basic camera skills, specifically with Canon 5D/7D cameras, along with other equipment including wireless mics, zoom recorder, booms and lighting.
- Must be digital-savvy by researching emerging talent, trends and potential series topics.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have home, food and style knowledge
- Must be proficient in powerpoint
- Must have basic knowledge of DSLR cameras and video
- Must have basic knowledge of lighting and camera setup
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, plus Google docs, etc.
- Attention to detail and self-starter a must
- Must be able to communicate effectively - verbally, in writing, and in person
- Able to work well with team members in a creative, fast-paced environment
- Ability to make quick decisions and problem solve without losing composure
- Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignment simultaneously
