Job Summary
The Shopping Newsletter Editor will join the central Commerce Content team and will write/edit newsletters for several brands across the Meredith portfolio including People, InStyle, Travel + Leisure, Real Simple and Health. They will have the opportunity to create newsletter content covering a wide variety of categories including fashion, beauty, home, food, tech and entertainment. This role requires someone who is passionate about writing, products, shopping and newsletters. Experience writing for newsletter is strongly desired as well as analyzing performance and measuring key newsletter metrics.

Job Functions
- Execute the eCommerce team's five shopping newsletters (Real Simple Shopping, People Shopping, InStyle Shopping, T+L Recommends, and Health Shopping)
- Work with the growth and editorial teams on growing eCommerce within editorial newsletters including for key tentpoles such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday
- Write subject lines, promote eCommerce articles within the shopping newsletters and pick products for direct-to-retailer touts along with compelling copy that will convert
- Collaborate with the growth team on newsletter strategy and reporting
- Collaborate with the commerce production team on compelling imagery
- Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
- Identify and carry out testing plans in collaboration with the growth team
- Pull monthly newsletter revenue reports
- Create affiliate links for newsletter touts
- Pitch and write shopping articles if and when time permits

Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related field

Experience:
- At least 2 years experience as a writer for an online publisher

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must haves:
- Demonstrate experience and interest in creating commerce content for newsletters and getting subscribers to convert
- Interest in writing and online shopping is a must
- Able to write compelling subject lines and newsletter copy to drive strong engagement
- Willing to use data to guide content decisions and methodical in testing ideas over and over again in order to achieve desired results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and matrixed organization
- Highly adaptable and quick to learn processes
- Familiar with the Meredith portfolio
- Experience working in Photoshop is a plus
