ICON Government and Public Health specializes in preclinical through phase IV support of clinical research and clinical trial services for biologics, drugs, and devices. We help our customers get their products to market faster with a wide array of research, regulatory, and sponsor services both within the US and around the globe and respond rapidly to global health crises.

Position Summary:

S/he will, in collaboration with the DVBIC HQ leadership to primarily keep DVBIC abreast of changes and updates in the emerging TBI research and literature. Additionally, support and participate in the development, writing, creation and/or improvement in TBI related documents, recommendations, tools and/or resources. These products will be utilized by providers, service members and/or family members as they relate in the care, treatment and effects of a TBI along the continuum of care and recovery.

Essential Functions:

- Review existing and ongoing studies regarding TBI care in civilian and military populations to ensure appropriate translation into the DoD and VA clinical practice and research gaps.

- Ensure new products or tools do not conflict with existing protocols or guidance.

- Assist in the development, writing, creation and/ improvements in TBI related documents, recommendations, tools and/or resources.

- Collaborate with senior leadership, internal and external stakeholders and other SMEs to ensure sufficient evidence and evaluation for a clinical recommendation, support tools, educational tools, or other requested products will meet customers need or intended population.

- Participate in periodic in scholarly, academic and scientific presentations, meetings and/or provides work for publication in scientific related journals or other format.

- Provide clinical input to DVBIC, the Services and the VA on improving standards of care, medical systems, TBI clinic development and TBI education across a wide network of organizations, clinical professionals and key leadership.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Laboratory/office environment; may require working evenings and weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Work may involve long periods of standing and handling of numerous chemicals and/or hazardous biological material. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Qualifications

Education
Medical Doctor (required)

Experience
5 years: Neurology experience (required)
Ability to search, review and understand medical literature (required)
Familiarity with military medical systems desirable (preferred)
Knowledge and/or experience with TBI related to area of specialty - Neurology (required)
