Product Safety Test Engineer at Big Ass Fans in Lexington, Kentucky

Job Description:

Big Ass Fans is seeking a Safety & Test Engineer to design, perform, document and report testing for our new and existing product lines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as attention to detail, will be key attributes of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities: 

• Work directly with certifying agencies to communicate test plans, test data, and results


• Perform testing in accordance with ISO 17025 and prescribed international standards


• Be able to interpret design/test standards and apply techniques to certified test plans


• Participate in test of new product introduction and keep to overall project schedules


• Participate in continued development of lab capabilities and personal advancement of standards competencies


• Develop and compose Test Plans and coordinate acceptance of plan prior to execution


• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions


• Perform testing of products in accordance with Dept. of Energy standards


• Communicate project status and test results to management throughout testing


• Within policy guidelines, identify, properly document, and recommend solutions or observations


• Maintain discipline and good house-keeping in the work area and facility

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in Technical Writing or Quality Documentation


• Preferred 4-Year Technical Degree or equivalent experience


• Preferred experience and credentials with Third Party Testing Lab testing programs


• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions


• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form


• Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and interpersonal 


• Able to stay organized with strong time management skills


• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment


• Microsoft Office experience


• Work independently or as part of a team
