Contracts Administrator I, San Antonio, TX, US ID#18861

SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting in the management of legal, financial and operational risk for Cherokee Nation Businesses and its subsidiaries by drafting, reviewing, assisting with negotiations and data entry and electronic filing of contracts and other documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:


  • Prepare, review and/or negotiate contracts/subcontracts of varying types, teaming agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) and other contract related documents.
  • Develop draft subcontracts based upon prime Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
  • Negotiate subcontracts terms, scope, and prices.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, contractor and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Provide assistance to program management by interpreting contractual, Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR/DFAR) and/or unique procurement regulations.
  • Support internal and external customers in the development of solutions to complex issues which require regular use of ingenuity and innovation that is consistent with business objectives.
  • Establish/maintain excellent customer relations, both internally and externally in supporting management's client relationship initiative.
  • Maintain contract database and contractual reporting.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, or other related field, and 2 to 4 years of commercial and/or government contract administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Risk mitigation, drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions, as well as, change order experience required. Experience with government and/or international contract administration and FAR and/or DFAR requirements preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Effective written, communication, presentation and computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex contracts and understand and identify contractual requirements and obligations.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of various contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and performance based.
  • Working knowledge of specialized software such as Spectrum and Contract Lifecycle Management Software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting.
