The Program Assistant provides general information and referral of services offered by Sarah’s House. Responsible for maintaining the facility in a clean, safe, secure manner. Drives clients in a van to appointments. Contributes to the spirit of hospitality and welcome among residents, volunteers and visitors.

Monday - Friday: 7am - 3pm
The Program Assistant is responsible for:
Provides services to residents in a dignified and respectful manner. Contributes to the spirit of hospitality and welcome among residents, volunteers and visitors through their personal actions.
Assists with the orientation of residents. Provides guidance and support to residents by being observant and attentive to both positive and negative behavior and reporting same to supervisor as needed.
Observes infraction of residents and takes appropriate action including documentation and referral to proper level of supervision.
Ensures residents are aware of their rights and the grievance processes.
Works with staff, residents, or volunteers in the performance of various chores related to kitchen, residence and grounds to ensure proper maintenance of the facility. Assists in the assignment of chores to residents and verifies the completeness of same.
Conducts room inspections and assesses level of compliance to established standards. Identifies areas requiring additional work and brings to the attention of the supervisor.
Provides transportation to residents in accordance with established policies. Includes driving program vehicles in a safe manner and maintaining all necessary documentation.
This position will require the following:
High School graduate or equivalent
Six months experience in human services or customer service.
Prefer one year experience working with the homeless or at risk populations.
Must have competent computer skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Must have a valid driver's license (with no more than 3 points) and ability and willingness to drive an agency van.
Must be physically capable of moving through buildings including stairs, carrying up to 40 pounds and be able to respond to residents in need of assistance.
