JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for integrating themselves into the BSA
processes utilized by the company in the development, implementation, and
administration of all aspects of the corporate-wide Bank Secrecy Act and
Anti-Money Laundering (“BSA/AML”) Programs. Responsibilities include, but are
not limited to, becoming well versed in all aspects of the company’s BSA, AML,
and OFAC processes, the Verafin automated system, providing leadership to all
business units in the area of Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML),
Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Customer Identification Program
(CIP) compliance, assisting the company in becoming a leader within the
industry in BSA, OFAC, and AML. Ensures the performance of all duties in
accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and
federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs personnel actions including
performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for
employment; supervises the daily activities of the FIU team including, but not
limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and
providing necessary training.
Participates
in the oversight of all aspects of the corporate-wide Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs and directly supports the BSA Officer.
Gains
knowledge of the company’s strategic vision for BSA, AML, and OFAC risk
mitigation in support of the corporate priorities and various business
initiatives across the company.
Gains
knowledge of the company’s BSA policy, program, and various desktop procedures
to ensure the BSA Officer Elect has a working knowledge of all segments of the
BSA/AML process within the company.
Reviews
and gains an understanding of the Verafin automated BSA/AML system and the
processes used to monitor, investigate, and respond to and/or document various
risks identified by the system.
Reviews
and gains an understanding of all program requirements including legal and
regulatory filings, reporting, training, communication, and ongoing risk
assessments.
Reviews
and gains an understanding of the recent risk assessments performed by the BSA
to identify and measure the BSA/AML and OFAC risks associated with products and
services offered by the company.
Reviews
and gains an understanding of the company’s customer identification program
(CIP), customer due diligence (CDD), and enhanced due diligence (EDD)
requirements.
Reviews
OFAC matches to ensure that all appropriate action consistent with OFAC
requirements to block or reject transactions are documented, reported, and
retained within the company’s records.
Reviews and assess the company’s identified
high risk customers and the underlying EDD, making recommendations as necessary
to improve the process.
Identifies
and monitors trends in the internal and external regulatory environments and
assesses their impact on the company.
Reviews policy to respond to the changing regulations, ensuring
consistency with the best business practices.
Assists
in the development and scheduling of BSA/AML/OFAC training for BSA staff with
the goal of having all BSA staff certified in a timely manner.
Participates
in the annual performance evaluation process for BSA staff.
Assists
in the development and implementation of the annual budget and department
goals, and monitor performance against those expectations.
Gains
an understanding of the process surrounding the development of the BSA Officer
quarterly reporting to senior management and the board of directors.
Meets with each of the business unit lines to
gain an understanding of the business strategy and BSA/AML risk associated with
each business unit.

Demonstrates

products offered, and services provided.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
AND/OR LICENSES:
Bachelor’s Degree from
an accredited college or University and a minimum of 8 years’ experience
working in a BSA, AML or financial crime related field.
