Job Summary

 

This position offers a diverse set of responsibilities and will work alongside senior management of the Oldcastle Architectural Products Group. The candidate is a skilled financial professional with an understanding of financial consolidation processes, corporate accounting, compliance and financial process controls. The individual has the ability to lead diverse teams, contribute to detailed financial work, and collaborate effectively with internal and external auditors, and is comfortable both with leading teams of finance professionals and with getting involved in detailed financial work. Core behavioral characteristics we seek include: being an effective leader, implementing financial process changes in partnership with the business and proactively finding opportunities to improve processes and reporting.

 


  • Direct supervision of consolidated financial reporting, data analytics and internal control teams

  • Ownership of data reported to parent company and responsibility for consistency of financial reporting processes

  • Managing weekly flash, monthly management reporting and bi-annual financial reporting processes

  • Understanding and development of corporate accounting processes, departmental cost analysis and head office cost control

  • Primary responsibility for co-ordination with external and internal auditors

  • Ensuring adequate controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financial assets, including all SOX controls and group accounting policies and procedures

  • Recommending and leading efforts to improve financial reporting and consolidation, including system assessment 

  • Leading business intelligence and data analytics approach: manage the point of liaison between the Information Technology team and the business leadership

  • Reviewing financial accounts to ensure adequate reconciliation and support

  • Contributing to talent management and succession planning among the finance team

  • Help in the planning/execution of the accounting staff’s goals, growth, and succession

  • Working on ad hoc projects as directed

 

Requirements

 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience

  • 15+ years financial accounting / reporting experience

  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant

  • Solid values and high standards of ethics, integrity, and trust

  • Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Action-oriented and results-driven

  • Ability and willingness to get involved in detailed financial tasks

  • Effective oral/written communication, presentation and listening skills

  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change

 

Preferences

 


  • CMA, CPA, or MBA preferred

  • Manufacturing or construction background along with multi-unit operations

  • Corporate accounting, SOX compliance and/or data analytics experience
