Job Description

Position:  Associate General Counsel, Global Supply Chain

Location:  Roswell, GA (open to remote)

Kimberly-Clark seeks to hire an experienced legal leader for the position of Associate General Counsel, Global Supply Chain.  Reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel of Kimberly-Clark, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and providing guidance on all legal matters related to the successful operation of Kimberly-Clark’s $10 billion+ Global and North American Supply Chain organizations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Together with business leaders and procurement professionals, lead the review, structuring, drafting, negotiation and execution of a wide variety of complex commercial agreements involving:  (1) IT vendor contracts, including contracts for SaaS solutions, inbound software and technology licenses, equipment purchasing contracts, and agreements for related professional consulting services; (2) agreements with external contract manufacturers and other outsourced providers; (3) supply and purchase agreements related to the direct procurement of raw and packaging materials and other components; and (4) third party logistics and warehousing agreements.

  • Serve as a member of and key contributor to Kimberly-Clark’s Global Procurement Leadership Team.

  • Establish a strong business partnership with the Global Supply Chain and North American supply chain and commercial organizations, providing sound, balanced legal advice in a manner that facilities delivery of business results.

  • Lead the legal support of the Global Supply Chain’s strategic efforts, including strategic category management and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Working with regional legal teams, outside counsel and other service providers, develop, deliver, and implement global best practices, templates, tools, playbooks, and associated policies and training.

  • Identify and execute upon process improvements and optimization of shared services and technology to achieve best-in-the-world commercial execution.

  • Manage and support the resolution of legal issues that arise in existing vendor relationships, including pre-litigation disputes and inquiries.

  • Showcase strong teamwork and collaboration with Kimberly-Clark’s global legal team, including collaborating with the company’s data privacy professionals in the context of IT vendor contract assessment and negotiation.

  • Recruit, develop and retain a strong and diverse legal team of one attorney and two other professionals.

  • Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of Kimberly-Clark’s compliance programs, particularly with respect to supplier issues and the mitigation of anti-corruption risks.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE


  • 12+ years of experience at a top-tier international law firm and/or a large multi-national company.

  • Demonstrated track record of negotiating and executing complex, high-value supply and purchase agreements, IT contracts (especially SaaS-based contracts), and other critical commercial agreements with minimal guidance and oversight.

  • Deep knowledge of contract, commercial and privacy laws and related regulatory and compliance matters.

  • Proven ability to partner with and provide strategic support to business teams to deliver results while managing risk to the enterprise.

  • Organized, driven, and hard-working; able to maintain focus while managing complex projects and competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Effective communicator with clear and concise writing skills and an ability to translate and communicate the legal implications of contract terms into identifiable business risks.

  • Experience leading, managing, mentoring and developing a diverse team of attorneys and other team members.

  • Experience in one or more industries relevant to Kimberly-Clark (e.g., CPG, consumer retail, manufacturing) preferred but not required.  International experience is also helpful.

  • This position requires an attorney with a J.D. degree or equivalent who is licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state bar.  A track record of academic distinction is preferred.
