Dietary Chef at Capital Senior Living in Canton, Georgia

Job Description:

We are looking for a self-starting, full time cook who can fully prepare/organize/and handle minimal special requests of senior residents. We operate off of seasonal menus; they are very basic which means we must garnish and make them appealing to our residents…We offer one entrée each meal however have an always available menu consisting of set alternative options, i.e. hamburger, soup/sandwich, chef salad, etc. We have residents who are on physician ordered therapeutic diets such as mechanical soft, pureed and/or finger foods….these therapeutic diets should be prepared from our regular menu but in the ordered “form”. We have Memory care residents (15) who typically need easy to eat, cut up protein options based off of the same menu while still receiving the nutrition of a regular meal…these meals are usually prepared first and sent out of the kitchen 30 min's prior to Assisted Living residents being served. Memory Care residents should always be served the same meal, it just may be altered, i.e. chopped, soups may be chunkier making them easier to eat, entrees turned into a “finger food” option, etc. Attention to detail and a high desire to satisfy senior residents is a must. This position will require some clean up, shut down of kitchen in the evening and running dish machine.
