General Dynamics Information Technology, we deliver cost-effective, next-generation IT solutions and services to the Department of Defense, the intelligence community and federal civilian agencies as they modernize their information systems.

GDIT is currently seeking a lead .NET Application Developer to support the Administrative Office of the US Courts. This position is part of its dynamic software development division. As such, the position is a key contributor to the integration, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and production support for a variety of internal administrative systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong ASP.NET MVC and C# background and solid communication skills with the ability to lead a team.

The project involves the modernization of a portfolio of Visual FoxPro applications into .NET-based systems and services.  The legacy application is composed of web-based and automated systems that support a variety of administrative and operational functions, including Human Resources, Finance, and Oversight. 

A senior developer looking for continually evolving challenges and a desire to regularly solve new problems will excel in this role. The ideal candidate has experience as a development lead on a cross-functional team in a large organization.

The current codebase includes a variety of applications built in: MVC, WebAPI, WPF, VSTO, and a custom plugin-based system.  Candidates should have solid understanding of multiple .NET technologies, including at least two of the above.

Additionally, the development lead will be responsible for helping to communicate technical questions back to the project management team, and translating the responses into actionable requirements.

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree


• 10+ years of experience with ASP.NET and C#


• Expertise with MVC 5, LINQ to Entities (EF)


• Team Lead experience


• Strong Communication Skills


• Ability to work independently without adequate guidance


• U.S. Citizen or Green Card
