ORGANIZATION: Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC)
WORK LOCATION: Idaho Falls, ID (MFC Site 4x10s schedule)
The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking candidates for a Refrigeration/Maintenance Mechanic position.
INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for the United States Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Energy, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design, development and fabrication, and post irradiation analysis. MFC is plays a pivotal role in supporting the National Reactor Innovation Center, which provides resources for testing, demonstration, and performance assessment to accelerate the deployment of new, advanced nuclear technology concepts.
Key functions of this role:
* Perform Journeyman level Mechanical Maintenance duties on HVAC/Refrigeration equipment at the INL. Duties, knowledge or skills lists in this position description may not be inclusive. Specific Duty Areas:
* Troubleshoot Mechanical/Refrigeration systems and components.
* Repair Mechanical/Refrigeration systems and components.
* Install Mechanical/Refrigeration systems and components.
* Perform preventative/predictive/corrective/modification maintenance on Mechanical/Refrigeration systems and components.
* Inspect and operate Mechanical/Refrigeration systems and components.
* Participate in work planning walk downs and man-hour estimating.
* Builds and maintains effective customer relationships.
* Perform on the job training (OJT) for other craftsman as required.
* Participate in maintenance assessments as required.
* Perform job and shop Leadman functions as required.
* Coupling and alignment of mechanical equipment.
* EPA Certification.
* Must be Journeyman HVAC Service Technician with a minimum of 3 years industrial/commercial experience.
* Must have a minimum of 3 years industrial/commercial HVAC control system experience
* EPA Refrigeration Technician per 40CFR part 82 subpart F.
* Must be capable of working extended periods of time in Radiological work areas including the required PPE (Respiratory Protection Etc.)
* HVAC certification is required
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L clearance, therefore US Citizenship is required.
