Overview:

**This position trains and sits in St. Louis, MO for up to 1 year before work from home is an option**

The Clinical Triage Nurse responds to incoming telephone calls and other media contacts to assess, provide telephonic medical advice, consultation, referrals, and assistance as authorized in accordance with standard symptom-based guidelines and procedures in a 24/7 call center and virtual care environment. Independently triages calls based on the customer medical condition, symptoms, and care requirements. This level of remote care requires exceptional listening skills and extensive Registered Nurse experience. Utilizes high level, critical thinking skills, and advanced competency in nursing judgment while accessing integrated telephonic and numerous computer systems to provide services, education to patients and customers, and clinical guidance to the appropriate level of care. Coordinates services with departmental staff and other departments to provide efficient and effective healthcare services. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values and service standards. This position is integral to Mercy's efforts to implement successful care delivery methodologies needed for alternative payment models and value-based care.

Qualifications:

* Experience: Three years experience in an emergency department, critical care, or pediatric acute care setting or five years general nursing experience in a hospital or clinic setting.

* Required Education: RN with a BSN or equivalent experience required.
* License: Current and unrestricted RN licensure in state of residence. Within six months will obtain multi-state licenses of states in Mercy Footprint, in collaboration with the Mercy Virtual Licensing Team.

* Certifications: BLS certification current or within 6 months of hire.

* Other: Utilization of computer and familiarization with electronic health record systems. Experience with multiple software applications and screens optimal.
