POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Sales Communications will be primarily responsible for developing and executing sales-wide, network-wide (distributor/retailer), and company-wide strategic communication programs that support and drive Constellation Brands’ long-term high-end growth strategy and foster culture that is true to our mission, vision and values. This includes developing communication strategies and timely information to engage, motivate and inspire field-based employees, senior Sales leadership, and the distributor & retailer stakeholders, while providing CBBD-wide internal exposure to the key sales components of our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Serving as the primary lead for the sales-wide and network-wide communications strategy development and program execution, applying best practices and progressive employee communication tactics.

  • This individual assists in developing and maintaining a variety of communications, documents, materials, sales communications, events, etc. that will improve overall Sales organizational performance. The Specialist’s primary focus is delivering clear and consistent messaging through a centralized source of communication for the Constellation Beer Division Sales organization.

  • Responsible for implementing the internal and external communication processes for the Sales audience in accordance with the Sales leadership, Field Sales Team, and Sales Enablement Team (SET).

  • Has ownership of the weekly sales newsletter, The Update, with support from Communication Specialist. Responsibilities include editing, approving, and sometimes gathering content, as well as tracking metrics to improve newsletter engagement.

  • Has ownership of the monthly distributor newsletter, Gold Network News, with support from Communication Specialist. Responsibilities include editing, approving, and sometimes gathering content, as well as tracking metrics to improve newsletter engagement.

  • Works closely with the Senior Director of Communication to develop communications plans outlining the details and timing around internal and external sales communications in support of strategic initiatives from the Beer Leadership Team (BLT).

  • Responsible for comprehensive communication plans around strategic sales initiatives, such as Shopper First Shelf, Seismic development/launch, etc.

  • Responsible for corresponding with internal customers to keep them informed of sales-related developments, announce new products and discuss changes in a way that projects a positive SET/sales support image and ensures alignment throughout the company.

  • Partner with Event Communication manager on needs both pre and post-event, as well as hands-on on-site assistance, including annual sales conference (CAP) and distributor conference (GNS), where needed.

  • Responsible for bringing to life sales-specific stories for such events, including Success Stories and Distributor advocacy experiences

  • Identify enhanced communication opportunities as it relates to the Constellation Brands Beer Sales organization.

  • Develop and upload content to Seismic – CBBD Field Sales communication tool – as appropriate

  • Collaborates with broader communication team to position sales perspective across cross-functional communication efforts, including Operations, Marketing, HR, and Growth.

  • Evaluates and defines the success of implemented communication tools. Surfaces creative ideas and solutions for new communication tools/vehicles.

  • Proactively develops/maintains positive working relationships with key internal customers.

  • Completes additional tasks, responsibilities and projects as needed and directed.

  • Additional projects that support and foster culture within sales across multiple geographies

  • Plays key role in reputation management across the Gold Network (distributor network) and retailers

  • Actively engage field sales in driving company strategy

  • Build and maintain key relationships with SET, BUVP team, and CCO Bill Renspie


  • Establishing a process to effectively measure, assess impact, and continuously improve our sales communications efforts

  • Providing coaching and counsel to Communications Specialist

  • Act as advocate for sales across broader Beer Communications team

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BS/BA degree in communications, public relations or journalism preferred but not required

  • At least 3 to 5 years of Sales or sales-related experience preferred and/or 3-5 years of Communications experience

  • Understanding of Alcohol / CPG industry experience a plus.

  • Superior communication skills

  • Proven project management experience
