Job Description:


POSITION SUMMARY:

A clinical study of breast cancer-related lymphedema is at a stage where a lot of data entry/consolidation, data analysis/statistics, and laboratory bench assays are needed to produce research manuscripts for publication. This position is expected to last for at least one year, with the possibility of extension, if research funding is renewed.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Data entry and consolidation, from multiple sets of Excel sheets to condensed tables.

Coordination with UTHealth biostatistician to ensure statistical analysis of data is correct.

Planning, running, and GLP documentation of laboratory assays of clinical study subject's plasma/serum and immune cell samples-assays include Western blots, ELISAs, flow cytometry, and possibly 2D electrophoresis.

Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes

Orders, logs, and stores laboratory and/or other supplies as directed by principal investigator.

HIPAA training for clinical study case report transcription, case report transcription

Generation of publication-quality graphs, images from assay data, using GraphPad Prism, ImageJ, or Excel software-principal investigator can train.

Hepatitis B vaccination-UTHealth Health Services should provide these free of charge (3 shots), because required for work with human blood products.

Abiding by UTHealth safety practices, including donning of protective eye goggles and gloves when storing/retrieving samples from liquid nitrogen storage.

Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.

Performs other duties as assigned.

May need to occasionally visit clinic at MD Anderson where study imaging is conducted by principal investigator.

Certification/Skills:

General knowledge of research fields.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

No years of experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
