RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for the dissimination of sterilization best practice procedural techniques for the Department of Otolaryngology. Perform a variety of duties including, decontamination, sterilization, cart assembly, and packaging. Fulfill all requirements for documentation to ensure that the Department of Otolaryngology is able to distribute high quality sterile products in an efficient manner. Must maintain a thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, utilization and sterile processing. Must maintain competency-level of knowledge as well as the competency levels of a designated Certified Medical Assistant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
* Maintain ( working order ) all related equipment if not functioning has the ability to contact appropriate vendor for repair or replacement
* Maintain daily work related documentation logs
* Daily preparation for sterilization - perform thorough examination of all instruments/scopes, etc. for breakage and wear.
* Educate and train the staff on sterilization proecedures.
* Assist in Medical Assistant capacity as needed
* Responsible for ordering all supplies needed for sterile processing for Otolaryngology
QUALIFICATIONS
Full - Time, 40 hours/week ( Days)
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma Or GED,
*
Certified Medical Assistant Required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Knowledge of use of sterilization equipement such as Steris, Trophon and Autoclave
