Responsibilities:
* Utilize company engineering and product standards in conjunction with engineering procedures and compliance requirements to produce structural engineering designs of moderate complexity under minimal supervision.
* Manage multiple projects to assure on time completion in accordance with project deadlines.
* Prepare engineering sketches, perform engineering calculations and develop analysis models for moderately complex project assignments.
* Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants.
* Adhere to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures.
* Interact with drafting/design group to develop and review engineering drawings.
* Perform checking of engineering drawings and mathematical calculations.
* Manage workload, budgets and project resources, requesting assistance as necessary.
* Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge as assigned, and adhere to regulations regarding PE sealing requirements specific to assigned projects.
* Communicate needs and challenges identified to all team members to assure quick disposition of issues.
* Promptly return calls, emails and other correspondence from customers, sales, or manufacturing as necessary.
* Interact with internal and external customers to develop and maintain relationships by providing the technical expertise to solve field issues in the most efficient manner possible.
* Implement revisions and change orders in accordance with company standards.
* Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in civil/structural or architectural engineering required
* 2+ years of related experience required
* Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) software experience required
* AutoCAD, STADD, RISA, MATHCAD, Adobe Acrobat software experience preferred
* Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification required
* Working knowledge of structural design codes (AISC, ASCE, IBC, etc.) preferred
* Working knowledge of the design of steel structures preferred
* PE preferred but not required
