Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

York Casket Company, A subsidiary of Matthews International, is seeking a qualified Finishing Operator to work in our Production Facility in the York, PA area for our memorialization business segment. The Finishing Operator will be responsible for various duties in the finishing area on memorial products including clear coating, polishing, painting and preparing of wood caskets to meet company specifications.

DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH

*Working in a production environment?
*Setting up and checking products to confirm if they meet specifications.
*Working under company processes to confirm high level of quality.
*Visually inspects product at work station to determine work required.
*Determines required finish operation based upon production order and ticket.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE.
*You will be working with hand and automatic equipment to re-polish damaged rock surface to it's original appearance.
*Observe and maintain machinery operation and identifying and defects or malfunctions.
*Inspect products to confirm it meets high standards for our customers.
*Clear Coating: performing clear coating operations, operating the clear booth controls, purging the paint gun, and end of shift procedures.
*Hand Polishing: performing hand polishing, using air tools, and end of shift procedures.
*Responsible for maintaining work area and all equipment required to complete job.
*Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

*Previous Machine operation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
*Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
*Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
*Ability to work overtime as necessary. PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

*Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
*Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
*Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
*Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
*Tnoise level in the work environment may be high.
