JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Mgr, Software Development position is responsible for planning and implementing customer facing applications and their backend services, which support Charter s next generation products. The Sr Mgr, Software Development is responsible for day to day management of full-stack software development teams in all facets of hiring, performance management, and growth opportunities. This position will focus on the overall delivery of customer-facing native mobile applications and their supporting services, partnering with a digital product team to align with the Product roadmap and desired outcomes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages cross-functional software teams responsible for quality and timely execution of delivery.
Leads teams through discovery, planning, and cerermonies within the product design and development lifecycles.
Leads cross-functional teams consisting of direct reports and matrixed team members to accomplish desired project outcomes.
Presents proposed solutions and reports status to upper management.
Organizes and delegates work to various levels of software developers.
Implements software proposals and estimates scope of work.
Ensures adequate project documentation is created on projects.
Makes decisions and solves problems while working under pressure.
Prioritizes and organizes load of work; effectively manages resource management.
Provides coaching and counseling when necessary.
Supervises and motivates others.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to lead cross-functional teams in order to achieve business goals and results
Ability to listen to multiple points of view and synthesize against goals for recommendations
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Strong understanding of software development and design principles
Experience with customer facing applications, including general UI and UX best practices
Demonstrated ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
Experience with dependency management and continuous integration testing tools
Knowledge of Databases (Relational and NoSQL), RESTful web services and APIs, AWS cloud infrastructure, Microservice patterns, HTML5, JavaScript, Apache open source libraries, continuous integration development pipelines and testing
Native app development standards, pratices, and development patterns.
