The Role:
The Process Scaling Organization (PSO) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated full-time Engineer I/ Research Associate to support sterile-fill drug product production. Qualified candidates will have experience with aseptic and sterile drug product filling techniques, visual inspection, and fill/ finish process development. A successful candidate should also have experience authoring and updating equipment specific SOPs and operational procedures. This position will require excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a focus on operational excellence and process optimization. Candidates are expected to collaborate between technical development groups, Preclinical Mfg, as well as Mfg. Operations and Logistics. A successful candidate must demonstrate the independent drive, and collaborative spirit to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced team that interfaces with several different departments.

Here s What You ll Do:
-
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot semiautomated filling equipment and lab-scale lyophilizer (Flexicon, LyoStar 3)
-
Work closely with technical teams to plan and execute bulk-freezing, filtration, excipient compounding, bulk dilution, and lyophilization batches.

Demonstrate aseptic and sterile filling techniques for final drug product.

Update and write standard operating procedure (SOPs) associated with liquid frozen and lyophilized drug products.

Create, maintain and complete experimental records (DevHub) and provide batch summary reports.

Assist PSO and technical teams with project goals.

Practice safe work habits and adhere to Moderna safety procedures and guidelines

Adhere to documented waste handling procedures to respect environmental regulations

Position Requirements:
-
Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of experience in Life Sciences or Engineering with background in lean methodologies and/or operational excellence
-
Understanding of molecular biology with experience in biologics drug product production operations (sterile filtration, TFF, aseptic technique) or a similar complex specialized environment
-
Hands-on experience with aseptic liquid filling of vials. Familiar with current varieties and suppliers of parenteral vials and stoppers.

Experience with manual pipetting and lab organization

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills as you will be responsible for having multiple interactions across operating and development teams
