A Day in the Life

Provides Electrical Engineering technical support to the product Failure Analysis function within the Post Market Product Analysis Laboratory.

Contributes to the process of failure analysis of electronic devices returned due to post market complaints documented within the Medtronics Global Complaint Handling (GCH) System. Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows post market Global Complaint Handling system (GCH) procedures.
• Works within the framework of the complaint management system to conduct the failure analysis of devices returned against a documented adverse product event.
• Performs device failure analysis to the component level.
• Must be familiar with the interpretation of PBC board level component specification sheets.
• Must be familiar with device schematic diagrams as a map to troubleshooting electronic circuits.
• GDP (Good Documentation Practices)
• Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for supervisor review.
• Runs minor projects, including performing tests, interpreting data, developing reports and/or developing test or programming fixtures.
• Seasoned individual contributor, working under limited supervision, and providing assistance and training to lower level employees.
• Expected to be analytical, flexible, innovative, and self-motivated.
• Performs technical activities requiring considerable judgment and may have ownership of minor projects.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Nice to Have

• Associate Degree in Electronics or Equivalent with 2 - 4 Years of Hands on Experience or equivalent.
• 2 or more years of experience working in a Regulatory Environment (preferred but not necessary)
• 2 or more years of prior experience in a Medical Device Company (preferred but not necessary)
