Manager, Customer Logistics at Continental Mills in Tukwila, Washington

Job Description:

About the Position


This is a key leadership role responsible for CM’s customer service, order management, and data synchronization strategies.  This individual leads a team responsible for CPG and Food Service customer service account management.  They will also be responsible for working closely with Sales and the Director of Customer Logistics to integrate customer requirements with CM Order-To-Cash and finished goods logistics strategies.  This role serves as part of the leadership team for Customer Logistics as well as the broader Supply Chain Team.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.



  • Understand external customer’s service requirements and effectively communicates as the voice of the customer internally; voice of CM externally.

  • Supports “Flow to the Work” mentality between functions.

  • Champions holistic continuous improvement with a focus on transactional systems and processes.

  • Supervises, coaches and develops their team to ensure individual and CM needs are met.

  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.

  • Manages CM’s order management processes and ensure KPI targets are set and achieved.

  • Manages Customer Logistics support of CM innovation projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities


Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field equivalent experience.

  • Three + years supervisory or management experience.

  • Proven ability to build a successful team, work successfully cross functionally, build customer loyalty and coach staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and make strategic decisions.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Customer Service or Logistics experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching. Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work. Moderate noise, ability to work in a confined area, and ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time are also included.
