1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the facility; perform dock walk inspections and minor repairs, including dock lights, ramp chains, door hinges, door rope and ball joints, placard and hooks, yellow chain, and screws 

  • Perform a variety of skilled carpentry, painting, plastering, plumbing, and mechanical repair work; perform minor conveyor repairs on manual conveyor system.

  • Inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs; maintain Eye Wash Station (clean, dust, and replace solution every 90 days to maintain compliance and promote safety) 

  • Contact vendors for PIT, batteries, and pallets; monitor needs for various pallet sizes and place orders; equalize and water batteries, change PIT batteries, clean (remove and clean out compartments, remove stickers, tighten cup and RF holders) 

  • Replenish water bottles and keep water dispensers clean

  • Operation and upkeep of sweeper/scrubber

  • Complete inspection and preventive maintenance reports  

  • Recommend and perform corrective maintenance in a timely manner with adequate recordkeeping

  • Document performance of preventive maintenance, equipment repair, part usages, etc.

  • Special projects and supporting operations as needed

  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers and management team on maintenance needs

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:


  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems

  • Ability to read simple electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings

It’d be great if you also have:


  • Prior experience operating PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) including; High reach forklift, dock stocker, order picker, pallet rider, scissor lift

This job requires the ability to:


  • Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery

  • Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel

  • Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance, including inspecting and performing work in, on or under parts of the equipment
