The Inclusion and Diversity Coordinator will report directly to the Head of School and provide guidance to senior leadership on strategies and tactics to promote inclusion and diversity efforts that will drive change and continue to build our culture of inclusiveness.  As the key leader of inclusion and diversity efforts, the selected candidate will develop, implement and drive an inclusion and diversity strategy and operating model while building relationships across the school to deliver effective and lasting changes that support an inclusive and diverse workplace culture.

  • Work closely with the Head of School, other school leaders and key staff to build a comprehensive inclusion and diversity strategy that positions inclusion and diversity as a capability throughout the organization.

  • Provide thought-leadership focused on developing innovative and schoolwide focused inclusion and diversity programs and initiatives that go beyond representation.

  • Partner with other staff, leaders, K12 recruiting (e.g. Talent Management, Total Rewards, Compliance), HR Business Partners, business leaders/teams and employee resource groups to drive a diverse talent pipeline and strong organization performance through diversity.

  • Work with the Head of School and other members of the leadership team to establish annual and measurable inclusion and diversity objectives and goals, and then create a process for holding leaders accountable through metrics.

  • Create monthly, quarterly and annual diversity metrics; gather and analyze data and produce reports to provide progress against diversity metrics and action plans.

  • Look for innovative ways to build OHVA’s inclusion and diversity strategy into Professional Development processes such as talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, employee engagement and retention.

  • Recommend, develop and introduce education that raises awareness of unconscious bias and supports creation of a sustainable inclusive and diverse work environment.

  • Contribute to the development of a compelling employer brand to attract and retain diverse talent.

  • In partnership with Corporate Communications and HR leadership, promote visibility of inclusion and diversity at OHVA, both internally and externally, through a well thought out communication plan.

  • Build and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to aid knowledge sharing and best practices.

  • Organize and support a Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board with administration, staff and parent representation. Students to be added second year.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. 


Minimum Required Qualifications 



  • Bachelor’s Degree AND

  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.


Other Required Qualifications: 



  • Demonstrated experience promoting inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

  • Experience driving high visibility programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization, as well as developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.

  • Strong communications and public speaking skills, dynamic presenter both in small or large group settings.

  • Ability to understand, interpret data, and perform analysis related to key metrics.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, time management, organizational, interpersonal and listening skills.

  • Ability to interact and collaborate with employees and management across all levels as an advocate for inclusion and diversity.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member that has strong influencing skills.

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time

  • Ability to pass required background check

Desired Qualifications:  



  • Prior experience developing an evidence based inclusion and diversity strategy that identifies gaps, combined with a track record of successful implementation and execution of the strategy.

  • Demonstrated ROI of workplace diversity by linking data to business outcomes.
