Senior Project Manager

Job Summary:

Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned projects, or programs, to ensure that client and company goals are accomplished. Directly responsible for client satisfaction. Assign, evaluate, develop and monitor activities of several Project Managers. Provide coaching and guidance to ensure team members understand tasks and act on them efficiently. Coordinate the development, implementation, and orientation of process improvements to ensure current industry standards are maintained. In addition to directing project activities, the Senior Project Manager will own the relationship between EMCOR Facilities Services (PMO) and the client. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate via, oral, verbal, and written. Background as former construction consultant, or owner's representative, beneficial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Directly responsible for client satisfaction including the preparation for and execution of quarterly business reviews. Accountable to project pipeline including the identification of new projects

- Manages on-site Project Team and participates in EFS Projects Team Leadership roundtables. Responsible for selecting, orientating, and hiring new employees and distributing projects according to the skill set of team members. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, evaluations, and counseling to other team members. Ensure assigned project team stays current with safety training. Monitor, document, and provide safety training to group as required. Occasionally visit project sites to conduct safety audits. Review audit results with Project Manager and provide feedback

- Manage large projects and/or client programs. Develop scope, identify qualified vendors, and coordinate bid packages for multiple bidders and disciplines. Compile bids and present to owner with award recommendations. Develop project, or program, budget and submit to owner for approval. After award, oversee and document efforts of GC, subcontractors, Project Managers and design team to ensure client goals are achieved. Ensure proper documents are used throughout the project including appropriate contracts, meeting notes, pay applications, and close-out manuals. Provide progress updates to client management as requested

- Evaluate processes and procedures of the Project Management Organization with an eye towards continuous improvement. Develop new processes and provide training to other team members

- Participate in appropriate professional organizations for networking and continuous education

Education:

- Undergraduate degree in related field (Engineering, Construction Management), or equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications:

- Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience specific to the construction field.

Licenses/Certifications:

- LEED Associate, State General Contacting Licenses, or professional construction affiliations a plus. PMI Certification required.
