We're growing rapidly and are currently seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support our Reston office or remote.
Responsibilities
This person is passionate about technology, curious, creative, and embraces challenges. Stays updated on new products and technology. Has hands-on experience with building and maintaining cloud-based environments. Has the ability to collaborate with peers and senior business minds to turn their visions into compelling solutions.
Develop cutting edge designs, architectures, and deployments across a myriad of technology stacks in leading cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, and GCP) using Infrastructure-as-Code, automated orchestration, and configuration management techniques
Research and develop proof-of-concepts projects to validate new solutions
Partner with leading Cloud Service Provider (CSPs) and enterprises to meet security goals and pave the way for digital transformation and modernization
Conduct testing and data reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of current security measures
Author and peer review of detailed design documentation
Develop and deliver thought leadership pieces (blogs, webinars, speaking engagements, etc.)
Qualifications
BS or above in related Information Technology field or equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of directly relevant systems engineering and architecture experience including requirements definition, architecture development, development of use cases and stories, and systems integration & test
2+ years of experience supporting cloud architecture, design, implementation, operations and automation in AWS
1+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and orchestration/automation tools
1+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform is required
1+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS platform capabilities and core services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, etc.)
Strong knowledge of with AWS native container technologies (EKS, ECR, Fargate, etc.)
Flexibility and a desire to learn new tools, technologies and paradigms
Experience working within a small technical team (3-5) individuals using Agile product development methodologies
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment
Effective documentation skills, to include technical diagrams and written descriptions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professional attitude and demeanor
Critical thinking, and ability to balance security requirements with mission needs
Ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and fluid environment
Cloud-based certification (AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)
