Scientific research experience.Job Description:The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position.
DEPARTMENT MARKETING STATEMENT

A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). The laboratory is primarily focused on vaccine development as well as understanding the pathogenesis of emerging RNA viruses in animal models and cells. UTMB is located on Galveston Island, about 50 miles south of Houston, TX and has state -of-the-art BSL-3 facilities to study emerging infectious pathogens. The preferred candidate should hold either a PhD, or MD degree or equivalent degree within the last 2 years, with a demonstrable publication record in immunology and animal (mouse) experiments. The candidate should be highly motivated and has good communication and organizational skills.
