POSITION PURPOSE:
 

The General Maintenance Associate is responsible for general maintenance and repairs of the building and grounds (75% of duties). Ensures that the facility is maintained at a high level, snow removal is performed in a timely manner when needed, and cleanliness and safety standards are upheld. The position may also do light cleaning as requested by management.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

 

• Ability to use power tools to perform job tasks safely and with desired results.

• Ability to service basic mechanical devices and functions within the operations.

• Ability to operate alternate facility PIT (scissor lift, sit-down fork, floor scrubber, etc.) safely and within expectations of site leadership.

• Maintain and repair production equipment as needed.

• Monitor equipment and perform troubleshooting for problems and breakdowns.

• Maintain and repair facilities including basic plumbing and electrical systems.

• Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways. Clears snow.

• Provide recommendation to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment.

• Efficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule.

• Conduct regular facilities inspections.

• Assist personnel as needed. Communicate regularly with personnel to ensure that repairs and maintenance needs are met and coordinated with production schedules.

• Keep management informed of areas activities and of significant concerns. Report major concerns or significant problems.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
• Basic mechanical knowledge

• Specialized training for blood borne pathogens, as well as hazardous materials.

 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Experience and training in service contractor-based skills necessary to perform general building upkeep.

• 1-2 years general maintenance experience
 
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Ability to use power tools
• General repair knowledge
